The meat industry 5.0 could start to become a reality soon on a large scale and could be a great revolution
As in other industries, the meat sector suffers from typical problems such as working conditions and hard work. There are many unskilled jobs that unfortunately have little appeal among the population, and usually the level of turnover is very high, either due to fatigue and physical exhaustion, or similar things.
The current industry 4.0 has sought efficiency in each and every one of the processes and this has led to treating workers as machines, which must reach certain levels of production as optimal data.
While industry 4.0 focuses on efficiency and productivity using new technologies, industry 5.0 focuses on the well-being of workers and sustainability.
Imagine a new meat industry where it is less hard and more attractive to work in production or in slaughterhouses and cutting rooms? That is precisely what industry 5.0 seeks, “humanocentrism”, to make an industry more humane, one that is made for people to work as people, and not as machines.s.
A Cobot is a collaborative robot designed to work alongside humans, and which would be in charge of doing the most repetitive and tiring tasks, and thus the humans who work alongside it will be able to take care of the most “human” part and the most supervision of the job.
These concepts are the ones that want to be implemented in Industry 5.0 and that could be a revolution. And those of us who work in the software and programming sector want to be part of it.
