Alimentaria 2022 has been a fair with a large turnout of both visitors and exhibitors, of course in person. Masks have been used, but it has been quite normal in general, as in 2019 and before. A great influx of people, a great activity and a great general enthusiasm.
There have been an amount close to 100,000 visits, which has meant an estimated impact of around 180 million euros in the city of Barcelona and its surroundings.
It has been 4 days of great activity where more than 3,000 exhibiting companies have been present, from up to 52 countries. Of those 3,000, about 400 have been international, from countries like Brazil, Australia, Canada, the United Arab Emirates, Puerto Rico, or Slovakia.
Among the visitors, approximately 23% have been international, coming from 149 different countries.
Among the attendees, the presence of 1,400 large invited buyers has been seen. They come from strategic export markets for food products and hotel equipment, such as the European Union, the US and Latin America, and it is estimated that more than 12,000 meetings have been held. Among the current issues was of course digitization.
According to the director of Alimentaria2022, J. Antonio Valls, it has been a great success. The event itself is considered a strategic partner for the food sector, in a resounding and progressive internationalization process.
